Thushan Igalawithana

Thushan Igalawithana is a Tunnel Engineer at Nippon Koei Co., Ltd since May 2021, contributing to the Moragolla Hydropower Project with an installed capacity of 30.5 MW. Previously, Igalawithana served as a Consultant Tunnel Engineer at Yooshin Engineering Co. from March 2019 to April 2021, working on the New Mutwal Tunnel for the Metro Colombo Urban Development Project. Earlier experience includes roles as a Geotechnical Engineer at Soiltech (Pvt) Ltd, a Site Supervision/Mining Engineer at Amberg Engineering, and a Project Engineer at the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka. Academic credentials include a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Resources Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, attained between 2009 and 2013, and secondary education at Royal College, Colombo.
