Rob Pitt is Vice President, Business Optimization, Nissan North America. He was appointed to this position in April 2018. In this role, Pitt is responsible for the oversight of all purchasing activities for parts, materials, vendor tooling, logistics, services, machinery and equipment, media, aftersales and accessories for Nissan's operations throughout the North American region. This includes vehicle assembly at Smyrna, Tennessee; Canton, Mississippi; Aguascalientes and Cuernavaca, Mexico; and engine manufacturing at Decherd, Tennessee.
Additionally, his responsibilities include supplier quality assurance, purchasing project management and supplier relations. Pitt also serves as the North American Regional Purchasing Head for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance Purchasing Organization.
Previously, Pitt was senior director, Production Purchasing, North America, and oversaw line parts and materials purchasing activities.
Pitt joined Nissan in 1994 working at Nissan Motor Manufacturing United Kingdom (NMUK) in Sunderland, prior to assignments with Nissan Europe in Paris and Nissan Technical Centre Europe in Cranfield, U.K.
Prior to moving to North America, Pitt was at Renault in Paris where he was responsible for the purchasing of tires, wheels and suspension systems for the Alliance globally.
Pitt holds a bachelor's degree in Business Studies from the University of Sunderland in the U.K.
