Cody Cowan

Cody Cowan is a seasoned professional in the live music and cultural tourism industries, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at the National Independent Venue Association since July 2022. Previously, Cody held the position of Executive Director at the Red River Merchants Association, overseeing a coalition of over forty local businesses in the culturally rich Red River Cultural District in Austin, Texas, from November 2018 to August 2022. Additional experience includes a decade as General Manager at The Mohawk, where operations focused on profitability and customer service, alongside roles as Operations Manager at Fun Fun Fun Fest and General Manager at Rasputin Music. Cody's career started in the early years at Emos as a bartender, complemented by a BA in History from The University of Texas at Austin.
