Senior UX Designer at Nivoda

João Gomes has a diverse work experience in the field of UX/UI design and web development. João started their career as an Art Director intern at Ágil, where they developed skills in Adobe's suite of applications and worked on designing print ads and branding for various clients. João then signed a 3-month contract with Paz Comunicação Estratégica, where they created designs for Patrícia Saboya's mayoral campaign in Fortaleza, including print and TV ads and a hotsite developed using WordPress. João then worked briefly at Reimagine Comunicação as a Web and Graphic Designer, before being recruited by Convertte, a Digital Marketing agency. At Convertte, João was responsible for designing digital products and working with renowned clients in Fortaleza. In 2012, João joined Convertte and continued their work as a Web and Graphic Designer, focusing on digital product design for clients such as Mercadinhos São Luiz, DeVry, and Yozenn. In 2014, João started freelancing and worked for clients such as Dragão do Mar Cultural Center, Arte Produções, Mapar Group, and iClub, designing and developing websites, applications, and print media. In 2019, they joined Net Energy Exchange (NE2) as a UX/UI Designer, where they designed mobile and web applications for brokering energy products and created and maintained their design system. In 2021, João worked at Aklamio as a UX/UI Designer, and then at Contentful as a User Interface Designer. João is currently working as a Senior UX Designer at Nivoda, where they contribute to research, design delivery, and design systems development for IoT, internal management systems, and e-commerce experiences.

João Gomes completed their education in a chronological manner. João first attended Universidade de Fortaleza, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Science in an unspecified year before 2015. João then enrolled at Rhine-Waal University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from 2017 to 2019. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Usability Engineering at Rhine-Waal University from 2019 to 2022.

Additionally, João obtained two certifications: "Cybersecurity at Work" from LinkedIn in September 2021 and "Foreign Exchange Program" from Lutheran High School North - St. Louis, MO in June 2005.
