Alina Madita Wieczorek is a Fisheries Scientist at NIWA since April 2022, with prior experience as a Post Doctoral Researcher on the MEESO project at the Marine Institute from February 2020 to February 2022. Alina completed a PhD in Microplastics in Marine Pelagic Systems at the University of Galway from 2015 to 2019 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science from the same institution, obtained in 2015. Additional experience includes summer bursaries at the Marine Institute and NUI Galway in 2014 and 2015, as well as volunteer work at Karumbè in 2011.
