Jeanne Benincasa Thorpe

Jeanne Benincasa Thorpe has a diverse work experience spanning various fields related to national security, emergency management, and public health preparedness. Jeanne has held roles such as Director of National Security and Resiliency at Nixon Peabody LLP, where they provided strategic planning and policy development for clients. Jeanne also served as the Massachusetts Undersecretary for Homeland Security and Homeland Security Advisor to the Governor, overseeing various agencies and managing terrorism investigations. Prior to that, they were the Director of Public Health Emergency Preparedness Planning at the Plymouth County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition, where they led a team in developing emergency preparedness initiatives. Jeanne also has experience as the President of Commonwealth Management Services, LLC, where they worked on initiatives for the Department of Public Health and provided strategic management services. In addition, Jeanne served as the Executive Director of the International Association of EMS Chiefs, advocating for EMS recognition and overseeing various programs. Jeanne began their career as the Managing Partner of Strategic Solutions Group LLC.

Jeanne Benincasa Thorpe completed their BA in Communications and Business from Providence College between 1986 and 1990. In 2016, they obtained a degree in Executive Leadership in Emergency Management from FEMA's National Emergency Management Executive Academy at the Emergency Management Institute. The same year, they also completed the Executive Leadership Program at the Naval Postgraduate School, specializing in Homeland Security. Additionally, they have received various certifications, including a Masters in Continuity of Operations from FEMA and a Public Information Officer certification from the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. Jeanne has also completed various courses offered by FEMA and the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
