Bart Smit is an accomplished expert in fermentation technology with extensive experience spanning over two decades. Currently serving as the Owner of FerMentor since January 2020, Bart provides consultancy in fermentation, product and concept development, and educational services. As Principal Scientist of Fermentation at NIZO food research since September 2011, Bart focuses on innovative solutions for the food and pharmaceutical industries, with a commitment to enhancing sustainability in food production. Previous roles include Lead Project Manager at SmaakPark, where the focus was on sustainable food, and Board Member at Vereniging het Boddegat, promoting energy-neutral housing initiatives. Bart's academic credentials include a PhD in Biotechnology from Wageningen University, complemented by two master's degrees in Biotechnology and Food Science.
