Patrick Whalen

Patrick Whalen, CHE, serves as the Regional Director of Mental Health & Addictions (Acute Care & Tertiary Services) at NL Health Services since April 2022, leading the inpatient acute services for Eastern Health. As the Owner and CEO of reFocused health since August 2012, Patrick specializes in employee wellness, functional assessment, and ergonomics. Previously, Patrick held the position of Provincial Director of Correctional Health Services at Eastern Health from January 2015 to July 2022, overseeing the transition of services between government departments and managing health services across nine correctional facilities. Additional experience includes a role as Program Manager within the Mental Health & Addictions Program at Eastern Health and serving as a Director on the WorkplaceNL Board from April 2017 to April 2018. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Business Commerce (Honours) in Human Resources/Labour Relations from Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador.
