Legal Counsel at NLC

Paul Cairo is currently the Legal Counsel at NLC. Prior to this, they worked as an Advocaat / Attorney-at-law at Loyens & Loeff from July 2017 to October 2020. Their work there was focused on Corporate (M&A / Private Equity / Venture Capital) and Litigation & Risk Management. From April 2016 to December 2016, they worked as a Werkstudent / Paralegal at Loyens & Loeff, where they worked on the Loyens & Loeff SPA Market Review (M&A Deal Point Study). This entailed researching clauses in SPAs with an eye to identifying market trends and market practice in M&A transactions. In November 2015, they participated in a Business Course at Loyens & Loeff in Paris focused on Private Equity and Banking and Finance. The course centered on a leveraged management buy-out, with a large focus on drafting transactional documents and negotiating between the seller, investment firm, management, and bank. In May 2015, they also participated in a Business Course at Clifford Chance LLP.

Paul Cairo has a post-academic education from Beroepsopleiding Advocaten, a law firm school. Paul has a Master of Laws (LLM) in Commercial Legal Practice from Universiteit van Amsterdam and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in Jurisprudence from the same school. Paul also has a Gymnasium diploma from Vossius Gymnasium.
