Paul Banks

Paul Banks is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in leadership and technology innovation. Currently serving as Chief of Staff at nLIGHT since September 2020, Paul guides strategic initiatives across the organization. Previously, as CEO of TetraVue, Inc. from April 2019 to 2020, Paul led the commercialization of optical time-of-flight technology for high-resolution 3D cameras. Paul also founded TetraVue and served as President from 2008 to 2020, advancing the company's 3D video camera technology. Earlier roles include Director of Advanced Programs and Director of Laser Systems at General Atomics, where Paul identified strategic opportunities and co-founded the Photonics Division. Paul began a career as a Physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, focusing on laser materials processing and developing high peak power laser systems. Paul holds a PhD in Engineering, Applied Science from the University of California, Davis, and a BS in Physics, Math, and Spanish Translation from Brigham Young University.
