Ana de Vera

Ana de Vera currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at NMD Pharma A/S since September 2025. Prior to this role, Ana held various positions at Santhera Pharmaceuticals from April 2022 to July 2025, including Head of Development and CMO-Deputy, as well as Head of Clinical Sciences. At Novartis, from July 2017 to March 2022, Ana was Safety Due Diligence Head and led safety efforts within the CardioRenalMetabolic Disease Unit, along with serving as Senior Global Program Clinical Head for large immunology projects. Earlier experience at Novartis from January 2005 to May 2017 involved roles as Medical Director and Clinical Head, overseeing drug development projects in multiple therapeutic areas and navigating extensive regulatory processes. Ana's medical career began as a neurologist at University Hospital Basel, specializing in MS research and clinical trials from August 2002 to August 2012. Ana received an M.D. from the University of Basel and has foundational medical degrees from Hospital Universitario La Fe and Universidad de Oviedo.
