Dr. Martin Pfeifle

Dr. Martin Pfeifle has over 30 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Dr. Martin is currently serving as the Chairman of the Steering Committee at Navigation Data Standard (NDS) e.V. Dr. Martin previously worked as the CTO at NNG LLC, where they focused on utilizing AI in the navigation/IVI domain. Prior to that, they were the Director - Head of ADAS Perception at Visteon Corporation.

Dr. Pfeifle also has extensive experience at HERE, where they held the role of Sr. Manager NDS. In this position, they managed a team of around 40 people and was responsible for NDS compiler development, requirements engineering, and product definition. Dr. Martin also played a key role in the design, development, and production of an NDS database used in a major OEM program.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Pfeifle worked at Continental, Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München, iff consulting & software GmbH, Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg, and as a self-employed freelancer. Dr. Martin has gained expertise in areas such as database systems, data mining, geographical information systems, and software development.

Throughout their career, Dr. Pfeifle has published numerous papers and holds more than 30 patents.

Dr. Martin Pfeifle has a strong education background in computer science and related fields. Dr. Martin obtained their Doctor of Computer Science degree from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in 2004, specializing in Database. Prior to that, they completed their Diplom Informatiker degree in Computer Science from FernUniversität in Hagen, a period extending from 1990 to 2001. In 1994, Dr. Pfeifle attended the Christian English Language Centre in Bournemouth, Dorset, England, where they earned their Certificate of Proficiency in English. Dr. Martin also holds a Diplom Ingenieur (BA) degree in Telecommunication Engineering, achieved from Cooperative State University in Stuttgart between 1988 and 1991. Dr. Pfeifle completed their secondary education at Kepler Gymnasium Freudenstadt, obtaining their German Abitur in 1987. Lastly, they attended Grundschule Besenfeld from 1974 to 1978 for elementary education.

Additionally, Dr. Pfeifle has pursued various certifications to enhance their expertise. Dr. Martin received a Product Manager certification from Udacity in an unspecified year. In 2023, they completed the Introduction to Augmented Reality and ARCore program from Coursera. In 2022, they earned an Android Developer Nanodegree from Udacity. In 2019, Dr. Pfeifle acquired a certification in Deep Learning from Udacity. Lastly, in 2017, they obtained a certification as a Self-Driving Car Engineer from Udacity.
