Ali Makarachi

Ali Makarachi has a diverse work experience in the field of transportation planning and engineering. Ali started their career at the City of Phoenix as a Transportation Planner, where they updated impact fee plans and calculated street impact fees. Ali then joined The Corradino Group as a Transportation Modeler, where they developed travel demand models and applied forecasting techniques. After that, they worked at AECOM as a Senior Transportation Modeler, where they implemented transportation and traffic engineering studies. Ali then joined C&M Associates as a Senior Transportation Engineer, managing projects and offices. Currently, Ali Makarachi is the Director of Transportation Planning and Engineering at the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA), where they provide technical support, manages the Pavement Management System, and oversees traffic count collection contracts.

Ali Makarachi attended the Cleveland State University from 2016 to 2017, where they completed the Leadership Academy program. Following this, they enrolled in the University of Birmingham for further studies. Ali obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Mathematics, and later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Operational Research/Transportation Planning from the same university. Additionally, they also earned an MSE degree in Operational Research from the University of Birmingham.
