Emily Buchanan

Emily Buchanan has extensive work experience in the legal and compliance field. Emily currently holds the position of Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer at Noble Corporation, a role they have held since November 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer & Associate General Counsel at the same company from October 2022 to November 2023.

Before joining Noble Corporation, Emily worked at Amazon as a Senior Manager, Risk, GRC/DOT Compliance from October 2021 to October 2022. Emily also held the position of Director, Ethics, Conflicts of Interest at Walmart from September 2020 to September 2021.

Emily's earlier experience includes working at Noble Drilling, where they served as Counsel, Director - Corporate Compliance and Regulatory Governance from November 2015 to April 2020. Additionally, they worked as Counsel, Director of Regulatory Governance from September 2014 to November 2015.

Prior to their time at Noble Drilling, Emily worked at LUKOIL Overseas Offshore Projects Inc. as a Senior Legal Counsel & Interim Chief Compliance Officer from June 2014 to September 2014, and as a Senior Legal Counsel from July 2013 to June 2014.

Emily's career started in the judiciary, where they worked as a Briefing Attorney/Law Clerk at the U.S. District Courts, Southern District of Texas from August 2006 to July 2013. Emily also served as a Briefing Attorney/Law Clerk at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit from August 2010 to July 2011.

Emily Buchanan earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History from the University of Houston from 1989 to 1992. Emily then went on to attend the University of Houston Law Center, where they obtained a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from 2003 to 2006.
