Amaris Sangster

Amaris Sangster has a diverse and extensive background in education and student services, currently serving as a District Representative and Resident Principal with Chicago Public Schools since July 2014. Simultaneously, Amaris is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Special Education and Teaching at the University of Illinois Chicago, where enrollment began in August 2018. Previous experience includes roles as a Case Manager at The Noble Network of Charter Schools since June 2009, and as the Director of Student Services at Civitas Education Partners from December 2015 to July 2017. Amaris also worked as a Special Education Teacher at Cesar Chavez PCS for Public Policy from June 2006 to June 2009. Educational qualifications include a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Dominican University, a Bachelor of Science in Social Work/German Education from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
