Melany Thompson-Zaro, FMP

Melany Thompson-Zaro, FMP, has a long and varied work experience. Melany began their career in 1999 as HR Manager for Comergent. In 2007, they moved to Sterling Commerce, Inc. (Comergent acquired by Sterling) as Facilities/Office Manager and HR Liaison. In 2008, they were promoted to Manager of Facilities Operations/Office Manager and Manager of Environment Health & Safety at Sterling Commerce, an IBM Company. In 2011, they moved to Bruker Daltonics as Senior HR Representative/EH&S Coordinator/Facilities. In 2013, they joined Space-Time Insight as Senior Manager of HR and Facilities until the company was acquired by Nokia in 2018. At Nokia, they served as Senior Manager in Operations until 2021 when they moved to Nodexus Inc. as Director of HR/Facilities.

Melany Thompson-Zaro is currently studying Business and Human Resources at San Jose State University. In 2012, they obtained a Certificate in Hazardous Materials from the Association of Bay Area Governments. Melany is also an International Facility Management Association Facilities Management Professional (FMP), having obtained the certification in 2010. Additionally, they have obtained four certifications from LinkedIn: Creating Your Personal Brand (2021), Implementing an Information Security Program (2020), Artificial Intelligence Foundations: Thinking Machines (2020), and Learning Data Science: Understanding the Basics (2020).
