Pete Thornton

VP Of Translational Science at NodThera

Pete Thornton has held various positions in the pharmaceutical industry since 2001. Pete began their career as a Research Associate at GlaxoWellcome, followed by a Research Associate role at Biogen. In 2006, they moved to the University of Manchester as a Research Associate. In 2010, they joined MedImmune as a Scientist I and was promoted to Scientist II. In 2018, they joined AstraZeneca as an Associate Principal Scientist, where they were the project leader and lead biologist on analgesia and neurodegeneration projects. Pete also prepared pharmacology and translational science reports for Investigational Medicinal Product Dossier (IMPD) and Investigator's Brochure (IB) prior to Phase 1 and 2 studies, and was a company representative on European consortium grants in neurodegeneration and analgesia. In 2021, they joined NodThera Limited as Director of Translational Science.

Pete Thornton obtained their BSc Pharmacology with Study in Industry from the University of Bristol between 1999 and 2003. Pete then completed their PhD in Neuroscience at The University of Manchester between 2003 and 2006.
