Nils Gilman

Nils Gilman is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in editorial, operational, and strategic roles across various institutions. Currently serving as Deputy Editor at Noema Magazine and COO & SVP of Programs at the Berggruen Institute, Nils oversees finance, HR, IT, and communications while spearheading philosophical research and fellowship programs. Previous positions include Deputy Editor at The WorldPost, Associate Chancellor & Chief of Staff at UC Berkeley, and Director of Research at Monitor 360, among others. Nils began a career in marketing and management consulting with companies such as Salesforce.com, BEA Systems, and Plumtree Software. Nils holds a Ph.D. in American History and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of California, Berkeley.
