Oskar Østby has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. In 2012, they started their career as a Swimming Instructor at LARVIK SVØMMEKLUBB, where they taught young children aged 5 to 10 how to swim. From 2014 to 2017, Oskar worked as a Retail Sales Associate at Teknikmagasinet, providing excellent customer service and maintaining the store's cleanliness. In 2015, they served in the Norwegian Coast Guard as a Medic, specializing in trauma care and responding to maritime accidents.
In 2017, Oskar joined Ascend NTNU as a Control Engineer, working on the development and testing of control systems for autonomous quadrocopters. During their time at Ascend NTNU, they designed a system to land a drone on a moving target and developed a system to measure the distance between drones in a droneswarm. In 2020, Oskar transitioned to the role of Project Manager at Ascend NTNU, where they focused on facilitating growth, improving organizational documentation, and building collaborative relationships with other technical organizations at NTNU.
Since 2019, Oskar has also been a Project Engineer at Norbit ODM, where they contribute to project management and engineering tasks. Oskar's work experience showcases their adaptability, technical expertise, and leadership abilities in various professional settings.
Oskar Østby earned their Master of Technology (MTech) degree in Cybernetics and Robotics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in the years 2017 to 2022. Additionally, in September 2022, they obtained a certification in IPC J-STD-001 from IPC.
