Sebastian Patzke has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Sebastian is currently the Head of Discovery at Nordic Nanovector ASA since 2022. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at Oslo University Hospital, starting as a Project leader and Senior Scientist in 2010 and later becoming a Project Group Leader. During their time at the hospital, they conducted research on centrosome and cilia dysfunction in human diseases, particularly in breast cancer. Sebastian also supervised students and collaborated with international experts on these topics. Sebastian was also a Research Manager at Nordic Nanovector ASA from 2017 to 2019, where they managed collaborations and research personnel for pre-clinical projects on radioimmunotherapy sensitivity mechanisms. Before that, they worked as a Post-Doc at both The Norwegian Radium Hospital and UMass Medical School, focusing on molecular radiation biology and cell cycle regulation. Sebastian's academic journey started with their PhD at The Norwegian Radium Hospital, where they studied novel genes expressed in neoplastic human B cells. Sebastian also worked as a Research Fellow at Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics, where they conducted research on ribosomes and tRNA. Overall, Sebastian Patzke has a strong background in molecular cell biology and advanced microscopy and has made significant contributions to the understanding of centrosome and cilia dysfunction in human diseases.

Sebastian Patzke obtained their education from several prestigious universities. From 1992 to 1998, they attended Technische Universität Berlin, where they earned a Dipl.Ing. degree in Biotechnology. Following this, from 2002 to 2006, Patzke pursued their doctoral studies at the University of Oslo (UiO), specializing in Cancer Research and Immunology. Recently, in 2019, they returned to UiO to acquire a certificate in Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the School of Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
