Carine Smith Ihenacho

Carine Smith Ihenacho is the Chief Corporate Governance Officer at Norges Bank Investment Management. Carine has over 25 years of experience as a lawyer and compliance officer.

Carine started their career as an attorney at BAHR in 1994. Carine then moved to Kværner ASA, where they worked as a legal counsel for five years. In 2002, they joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as a senior legal counsel. After four years, they moved to Aibel Group Ltd., where they served as general counsel for four years.

In 2011, they joined Equinor, where they served as VP Legal and Chief Compliance Officer for six years. Carine then joined Norges Bank Investment Management in 2017.

Carine Smith Ihenacho has a Master's degree in Law from Harvard Law School, a Candidata Juris from University of Oslo (UiO), and a Siviløkonom in Economics from Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).
