Vegard Torsnes

Vegard Torsnes has extensive work experience in the investment management field. Vegard started their career in 2000 at ABC arbitrage Asset Management, where they served as a Senior Analyst. In this role, they were responsible for identifying and analyzing arbitrage opportunities, developing new investment strategies, and managing portfolios. Vegard Torsnes worked at ABC arbitrage Asset Management until 2007.

In the same year, Vegard Torsnes joined Norges Bank Investment Management and held multiple positions. Vegard first worked as a Senior Analyst Corporate Governance from November 2007 to July 2017. In this role, they played an important role in analyzing corporate governance issues.

Following that, Vegard Torsnes was promoted to the position of Head of Active Ownership, Ownership Strategies at Norges Bank Investment Management from July 2017 to February 2019. In this role, they led the active ownership efforts and developed strategies to enhance the organization's investment stewardship.

Currently, Vegard Torsnes holds the position of Lead Investment Stewardship Manager at Norges Bank Investment Management since March 2019. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing and managing the investment stewardship activities of the organization.

Vegard Torsnes has a diverse education history. In 1991-1993, they attended Fana gymnas where they obtained a Baccalaureat degree in Physical Sciences. Following that, from 1994 to 1995, they studied Commercial French at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). Later, they pursued their Masters of Management degree in Economics & Management from Université Toulouse 1 Capitole between 1995 and 1999. In 1999-2000, Vegard Torsnes attended UC Santa Barbara, where they earned another Masters of Management degree, this time specializing in Finance & Management. Finally, in 2019, Vegard completed a short-term program at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) called NHH Executive - The Board Program, focusing on Corporate governance.
