Øystein Børsum

Øystein Børsum serves as the Deputy Governor of Norges Bank since August 2021, focusing on the Government Pension Fund Global and holding key roles on the Executive Board and the Monetary Policy and Financial Stability Committee. Prior to this position, Øystein Børsum was employed at Swedbank from September 2013 to June 2021 in various roles, including Chief Credit Strategist, Chief Economist Norway, and Senior Economist. Øystein's previous experience also includes serving as Chief Specialist at the Ministry of Finance from March 2010 to August 2013, where responsibilities involved investment strategy for the Sovereign Wealth Fund. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Oslo, along with degrees in political science and financial economics from prestigious institutions such as Sciences Po and The London School of Economics.
