Peter M. W. Skovgaard

Peter M. W. Skovgaard has worked in the field of medical lasers since 2014, when they began their role as Chief Scientific Officer at Norlase. In this role, they also served as COO and CEO, developing and reinventing Medical Lasers for eye treatment. Prior to this, they were a Special Consultant at DTU Fotonik from 2013, a Project Manager at Kaleido Technology from 2010, a Project Manager and Concept Developer at NKT Photonics A/S from 2009, a Research Scientist and Group Leader at Crystal Fibre A/S from 2001, a Post Doc at GIGA / Technical University of Denmark (DTU) from 1998, and a PhD student at University College Cork from 1995. Peter M. W.'s PhD research focused on high brightness, high power semiconductor lasers, and they also worked on processing technology and numerical simulations.

Peter M. W. Skovgaard obtained a PhD from University College Cork in 1998, having studied Physics. This followed an MSc from Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark, which they obtained in 1995 after studying Physics and Math. In 2019, they completed the IFD-INSEAD Making Innovation Happen Program at INSEAD.
