Morten Wethje Søndergaard

Morten Wethje Søndergaard is an experienced manager in the field of Nordic power trading, currently serving as the Manager for Nordic Power Trading at Norlys Energy Trading A/S since February 2021. In this role, Morten oversees financial power trading, focusing on the Nordic power market and CWE region, executing trades across various contract durations. Morten has successfully established a power curve trading desk from scratch and was instrumental in securing market access to Nasdaq Commodities, executing the company's first trade. Previously, Morten worked as a Nordic Power Trader - Structuring at Centrica Energy Trading, where the emphasis was on creating value through proprietary trading and portfolio management. Morten began the career as a student assistant at Neas Energy A/S, gaining experience in structured trading and risk management. Morten holds a Master of Science in Management Accounting and Control from Aarhus BSS - Aarhus University, as well as degrees in Almen Erhvervsøkonomi and International Handel from Aalborg University and Aalborg Handelsskole, respectively.
