Ciarán Murray is a seasoned research scientist at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) since April 2016, specializing in marine ecology. Prior experience includes serving as a research assistant at Aarhus University’s Institute for Bioscience from March 2013 to March 2016, where Ciarán contributed to the development of statistical models for Danish water plans and an indicator-based biodiversity assessment tool for the DEVOTES project. As a PhD student at Aarhus University from January 2011 to December 2015, research focused on enhancing the description of light attenuation in marine ecological models. Earlier professional experience includes working as an engineer at DHI from July 2004 to November 2013, concentrating on marine ecological modeling and data management. Ciarán holds a PhD in marine ecology from Aarhus University (2011-2015) and a Master of Science in Process Systems Engineering from Imperial College London (1997-1998).
