Mauro Benedetti has held a variety of roles in the renewable energy sector since 2008. Mauro began their career as an intern at KPMG and Telecom Italia in 2008. In 2009, they were an Associate in the Project Finance Team at Studio Legale Grimaldi e Associati, where they worked on project financing, EPC, O&M, and M&A contracts drafting and negotiation for solar, wind, and WTE projects. In 2010, they joined European Energy A/S as a Legal Counsel, where they worked on solar and wind projects in Italy, Spain, South Africa, and Croatia, as well as market analysis on the Central America market. From 2012 to 2015, they worked at Roncucci & Partners as a Project Manager in the Green Technologies department, where they were responsible for business development, market and business opportunities identification, evaluation, and development, and lobbying activities. In 2015, they joined Fide Advisory as a Business Developer in the Renewable Energy - distributed generation sector, where they provided advisory services to investment funds and SMEs looking to expand their business into international markets, with a focus on Solar distributed energy projects in Brazil and South Africa. Mauro also developed market analysis and feasibility studies. In 2021, they became the Brazil Country Manager at Norsk Solar. Additionally, in 2015, they co-founded and invested in La Cremosa, an Italian/South African start up in the food and retail sector.

Mauro Benedetti completed a Postgraduate master in International Finance Audit & Control from Institut de Formation Bancaire Luxembourg in 2009. From 2005 to 2007, they obtained a Master degree in Business Law from Luiss Guido Carli University. Mauro also received a Bachelor degree in Law from the same university between 2002 and 2005. Additionally, Mauro Benedetti studied at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen.
