Bryan Long has a diverse work experience, with their most recent position being the Director of Product Management at North American Bancard since February 2022. In this role, they lead the Developer Experience Value Stream, defining the product roadmap for the Payments Hub Developer Portal and managing a Full-Stack web development team. Before that, from July 2021 to February 2022, they worked as a Senior Technical Product Manager, APIs at North American Bancard.
Prior to joining North American Bancard, Bryan was an API Technical Program Manager at FIS from July 2019 to July 2021. In this role, they co-managed the development and drove adoption of the Worldpay API Developer Portal and co-led the Catalyst technical development team. Bryan also managed the implementation of the "Paved Road to Production" to modernize REST API development throughout product and development teams.
Before working at FIS, Bryan worked at Worldpay as a Developer Advocate and API Technical Evangelist from June 2018 to July 2019. Prior to that, they were a self-employed Web Developer from August 2017 to September 2018, delivering innovative technology solutions to clients.
Bryan also has experience in the education sector, having worked as an English Language Arts Teacher at Aspen Community School from May 2011 to May 2017, and as a Communications Coordinator at the same school from November 2012 to November 2013. Bryan also served as a Municipal Development Coordinator in the Peace Corps from August 2005 to March 2008.
Bryan Long completed a Web Development Immersive Program at Galvanize Inc in 2017-2018. Bryan holds a Bachelor's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which they earned from 2001 to 2005. In 2002-2003, they also studied City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning at UNSW. Bryan has also obtained a certification in API Design and Fundamentals of Google Cloud's Apigee API Platform by Google Cloud in 2019.
