Jonovan Cooper

Jonovan Cooper, DMA, serves as a Teaching Assistant Professor and Jazz Band Director at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University since October 2021, focusing on jazz ensemble, jazz history, arranging, and composition. Previously, Jonovan was a High School Music Teacher at the International Community School of Addis Ababa and held the position of Choir Director at the International Community School. Jonovan's experience also includes serving as the Director of Music at Beza International Church, Assistant Professor of Music at Addis Ababa University, and Adjunct Professor at the Mekane Yesus School of Jazz Music. Jonovan has performed as a musician for Princess Cruises and was an Assistant Professor of Music at South Carolina State University. Jonovan holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from The American Conservatory of Music, a Master of Business Administration from American Intercontinental University, a Master of Music from Norfolk State University, and a Bachelor of Music from North Carolina Central University.
