Kristin Rice

Kristin Rice is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in banking and trust law, currently serving as the Deputy Commissioner for Legal Affairs at the North Carolina Department of Commerce since 2014. Kristin has held multiple titles within the Office of the Commissioner of Banks, including Director and General Counsel, where responsibilities included supervising legal teams, negotiating disputes, and drafting legislation. In addition to a robust legal career, Kristin has contributed to academia as an Adjunct Professor at Campbell University, teaching courses in legal and regulatory issues pertinent to trust and wealth management. With a solid educational foundation, including a Juris Doctor from Elon University and an MBA from Campbell University, Kristin has also practiced in estate planning, bankruptcy, and related legal fields at various law firms.
