Douglas Burley

Douglas Burley is an experienced educator and firefighter with a diverse professional background. Currently serving as a firefighter at Harrells Fire Department since June 2024 and a teacher at Union Middle School since February 2023, Douglas has also held the position of certified driver education instructor in North Carolina since June 2014. At Union High School, Douglas has contributed as a Health and Physical Education Teacher, Strength and Conditioning Coach, and head coach for football, baseball, and softball since August 1997. Additionally, Douglas has been a volunteer firefighter at Harrells Volunteer Fire Department since February 1989 and completed an internship at Wrightsville Beach Fire Department from January 1996 to June 1997. Douglas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, obtained between 1992 and 1997.
