William Pitt has a diverse work experience. William started their career in 1999 as a Dispatcher at Beaufort County Sheriff Communications, where they handled emergency calls and provided dispatch support for public safety agencies. In 2008, they became a City Council Member at the City of Washington North Carolina. In 2013, they joined the North Carolina League of Municipalities Board of Directors as a District Director, representing a seven-county area in the state. Most recently, in 2017, they became the Vice President at North Carolina.
William Pitt attended the UNC School of Government in 2016, earning a certificate in Advanced Leadership Corps as an Ambassador. Additionally, they pursued General Studies at East Carolina University from 1975 to 1976, although they did not obtain a degree during this time.
