Mike Waggoner

Vice Chair at North Idaho College

Mike Waggoner is a lifelong resident of the Northwest. His mother's family came to Idaho in 1907 as homesteaders. Mike worked for 45 years in high-level organizational roles in Fortune 100 companies. Mike achieved the position of acting first sergeant in the U.S. Army before he completed his service. Mr. Waggoner started his education at a community college and credits that opportunity as what made it possible for him to work his way through school to get a four-year degree and then go to graduate school. He has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in business administration. Mike spent 27 years in high tech and 19 years working with Boeing. Mr. Waggoner was the manager for all of the new systems in all the Peterbilt and Kenworth factories in the U.S. and Canada. Mike worked with another person and created a redesign of the Tektronix company. They had 24,500 employees and credited the redesign for their continued existence. He also worked as a software engineering manager, leading a team of 17 software developers and testers. Mr. Waggoner was an HOA president and worked in local politics for nine years.
