Brad Newton is the Vice President of Information Systems and Chief Information Officer at North Memorial Health. Brad has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including their previous role as Vice President of Information Technology Administration and Non-Clinical Applications at WellStar Health System. In this role, they were responsible for IT strategy, planning, and financial management, as well as leading the non-clinical applications portfolio for a 600 person IT division. Brad led cultural changes that provided improved transparency and accountability in IT operations through a focus on data-driven communication, process improvement and coaching.

Under Brad's leadership, the team at WellStar achieved many successes, including accelerating application development and intelligent process automation, improving workforce productivity, and integrating technology for an acquisition of 5 hospitals and 50 physician practices. Brad also enabled transparency for IT value by implementing principles of Technology Business Management (TBM) using tools from Apptio. In recognition of their accomplishments, Brad was named Most Wired Hospitals in 2017, 2019 and 2020, and led efforts to achieve HIMSS Stage 6 in 2014.

Brad is a subject matter expert on healthcare IT financial and compliance issues, and has presented to the WellStar Board of Trustees on these topics. Brad holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Georgia and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Emory University.

Brad Newton has a Masters of Business Administration from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, a BA in Economics from Duke University, and a Diploma from Medfield High School. Brad also has certification from the Technology Business Management Council as a Certified Technology Business Management Executive, from the World TaeKwanDo Federation and Marietta Martial Arts as a Tae Kwan Do 3rd Degree Black Belt, from WellStar Health System as a Lean Six Sigma Executive Champion, from Scrum Alliance as a Scrum Master Certified (SMC), and from ISACA as a Certified Information Security Auditor. Brad is also certified by the Georgia Board of Accountancy as a Certified Public Accountant.

Brad Newton reports to J. Kevin Croston, Chief Executive Officer. Brad Newton works with Andy Cochrane - | Chief Hospital Officer, Samantha Hanson - Chief Administrative Officer, and Carolyn Ogland - Chief Medical Officer.
