ICSS Senior Engineer at North Oil Company Qatar

Frédéric BESANCON has extensive work experience in various roles related to instrumentation, integrated control, and safety systems (ICSS). Frédéric'smost recent position was as an ICSS Senior Engineer at North Oil Company Qatar, where they started in January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Electrical, Instrument and ICSS Maintenance Supervisor at MLPC International from June 2020 to January 2022.

From November 2018 to December 2019, Frédéric worked as an Instrument and ICSS Project Lead Engineer at JOCAP (JV Total & SOCAR). During this role, they were involved in the Absheron project, focusing on detail engineering, deliverable follow-up, and subsea equipment integrated testing with ICSS.

Frédéric also gained experience at Total, where they held multiple positions. From October 2017 to October 2018, they served as an Instrument and ICSS Project Lead Engineer for the Absheron Project during the FEED phase. Frédéric was responsible for deliverable follow-up and preparation of ICSS Call for Tender dossier.

From August 2015 to July 2016, Frédéric worked as an ICSS Commissioning Engineer at Total, leading the revamping and debottlenecking of an existing onshore plant. Frédéric was also involved in platform integration into the control and safety systems.

Prior to that, they were an ICSS Task Force and Integrated Factory Acceptance Tests (IFAT) Leader at Santos Ltd from January 2012 to December 2013. Frédéric managed a team of engineers and was accountable for the budget and schedule.

Frédéric also had roles at Total as a Senior Project Engineer in charge of Electrical, Telecom, and ICSS from July 2009 to December 2011, as well as various project engineer positions from November 2005 to July 2009. Frédéric started their career at Saipem France as an Instrument, Integrated Control, and Safety System Maintenance Supervisor from November 2001 to December 2004.

Before that, they worked as an Instrument and Automation Engineer at MLPC International SA from October 1995 to November 2001.

Overall, Frédéric BESANCON has solid experience in ICSS engineering, project leadership, and maintenance supervision, with a focus on instrumentation and control system integration.

Frédéric Besancon began their education at Lycee Jules HAAG in Besancon, France, where they pursued an associate degree in Industrial Control Systems and Instrumentation engineering from 1992 to 1994. Following this, they attended Nancy, France, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Automation and Computer Science for scientific instrumentation from 1994 to 1995, specializing in Computer Sciences.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Frédéric Besancon also holds a certification in FOET (with EBS) obtained from OPITO in September 2018.
