Sr. Drilling Engineer at North Oil Company Qatar

Tarek Benrhouma has a diverse work experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on drilling engineering. Tarek started their career at Schlumberger IPM in 1995 as a Drilling Engineer. From 1999 to 2001, they worked as a Night Supervisor/Drilling Engineer for NIMIR Petroleum Company in Libya and as a Drilling Engineer for ECUMED PETROLEUM LTD TUNISIA.

In 2001, Tarek joined DONG Energy as a Senior Drilling Engineer, where they were responsible for planning the well trajectories for the South Arne chalk development project. Tarek prepared the design document and drilling program and transitioned from an engineering planning role to an operational role during well execution.

In 2004, Tarek became a Senior Drilling Engineer at ConocoPhillips, where they co-planned and supported the execution of a HPHT well on Block 2/7. Tarek then joined DONG Energy again in 2005 as a Senior Engineer, planning and executing the drilling of horizontal development wells.

In 2013, Tarek joined Maersk Oil Qatar as a Senior Drilling Engineer, where they were responsible for planning the 5th Al Shaheen field development and preparing and costing wells for project sanctioning. Tarek continued their career at Total E&P Qatar (NOC) in 2016, working as a Senior Drilling Engineer and preparing drilling plans for a campaign of 21 wells.

Currently, Tarek is employed at North Oil Company Qatar since 2017 as a Senior Drilling Engineer. Tarek plans and executes ERD wells on the Al Shaheen field, which are characterized by shallow TVD and long MD combined with very crowded platforms. Tarek also led the building of the REAL TIME SUPPORT CENTER, a digital initiative for the company, where they tailored solutions for drilling operations and monitored drilling parameters.

Overall, Tarek Benrhouma has a wealth of experience in drilling engineering, demonstrating their ability to plan and execute drilling operations in challenging environments.

Tarek Benrhouma attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1986 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Petroleum Engineering.
