Geoff Hurst has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the education and technology sectors. Geoff is currently serving as the District Director of Enterprise IT Applications Support and Development at the North Orange County Community College District since 2019. Prior to this, they worked as a Consultant at Raka Consulting starting in 2018. From 2017 to 2018, Geoff held the position of Chief Technology Officer at the West Covina Unified School District. Before that, they worked as a Business Analyst at the Coast Community College District from 2006 to 2017. Geoff's earlier experiences include roles such as TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) at the Newport Mesa Unified School District, Classroom Teacher at the Newport Elementary School, and Education Technology Coordinator at the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) or (DoDDS). Geoff also served as an Information Technology Specialist at the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) or (DoDDS) and the Seoul International School. Geoff started their career as a Middle School Teacher at the New Zealand School of Education in 1989.
Geoff Hurst has a diverse education history. Geoff obtained a Master's degree in Information Technology from California State University, Fullerton, which they pursued from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from California State University, Long Beach, in 1996. Additionally, they hold an Associate's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from The University of Auckland, where they studied from 1986 to 1989.
In addition to their formal education, Geoff Hurst has obtained several certifications. In 2017, they received a certification from the Chief Information System Officers Association (CISOA). Geoff has also obtained a certification as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. Furthermore, they hold a certification as a Project Adventure Instructor from Project Adventure, Inc.
