Head Of Scientific Support at North Wales Police

Anya Hunt has over 24 years of work experience in the field of forensic sciences. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Scientific Support at North Wales Police. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences from 2014 to 2021. Anya also has experience in sales and management roles, having worked as the Director of International Sales for Molecular Machines & Industries and as the Regional Sales Manager at the same company. Anya has also held positions at Olympus, LGC Forensics, Forensic Alliance, and Tayside Police Forensic Science Lab, where they gained valuable expertise in forensic chemistry and team leadership. Additionally, Anya has lectured on short courses at the University of Strathclyde. Anya was also the Chair of Standards at the Forensic science society from 2005 to 2010.

Anya Hunt completed their education in a chronological manner. Anya first attended The University of Sheffield from 1988 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree, majoring in Chemistry and Pure Maths. Anya then enrolled at the University of Strathclyde from 1991 to 1992 and obtained a Master's degree in Forensic Science and Technology. Subsequently, Anya pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Analytical Chemistry from The University of Manchester, where they studied from 1993 to 1996. After completing their doctoral studies, they attended Staffordshire University from 2004 to 2006 and earned a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDipL). Finally, from 2007 to 2009, they studied at BPP Law School, where they completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC).
