Michael Wood

Michael Wood has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Michael started their career in 1991 at the University of Toronto, where they served as a Professor in the Departments of Medical Imaging and Medical Biophysics. During their time at the university, they also held the position of Director of Research in the Department of Medical Imaging, where they supported faculty research and facilitated grants for new investigators.

In 2000, Michael joined Cedara Software as the Director of Clinical Development for a year before transitioning to GE Healthcare. At GE Healthcare, they held multiple roles, including Manager of MR Body Applications, Manager of Global 1.5T MR Product Line, and Manager of MR Research Collaboration. In these positions, they were responsible for leading market research, product development decisions, establishing cost and price targets, creating marketing material, and supporting regulatory applications.

In 2010, Michael became the Chief Executive Officer of the Thunder Bay Regional Research Institute (TBRRI) and Vice President of Research. Michael then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto from 1982 to 1986. Later, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management from 1997 to 1999.
