Brad Kayata has extensive experience in the field of special education. Brad began their career in 2003 as an MH Intervention Specialist at the Montgomery County Educational Service Center. From 2004 to 2009, they worked as an Intervention Specialist for students with multiple disabilities at the Vandalia-Butler City School District. During this time, they implemented an after-school disabilities awareness program and integrated their students into mainstream classes.
In 2009, Brad joined the Springfield City School District as a Special Education Supervisor, a role they held until 2014. Brad then transitioned to Northeastern Local Schools, where they served as the Special Education Coordinator and Director of Special Education services. In this position, Brad was responsible for overseeing special education for the entire district, attending IEP meetings, and reviewing all IEPs.
Most recently, Brad became the Director of Education for the Greene County Learning Center at Greene County ESC in 2018.
Brad Kayata obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Multi-handicapped Education from Wright State University in 1997-2000. Brad then pursued further education and earned a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Antioch University Midwest in 2007-2008. Following this, Brad obtained a Principal License from the same university in 2008-2009. Brad also holds several additional certifications, including Crisis Prevention Institute Certified Instructor, Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES) Certification, K-12 Intervention Specialist, and PK-12 Principal License.
