Ariel Avila

Ariel Avila has over two decades of experience in the biotechnology and manufacturing sectors, currently serving as a Senior Manager in Cell Therapy GMP Manufacturing Operations at Takeda since June 2014. In this role, Ariel directs and mentors associates to ensure compliance with GMP activities. Previous positions include various supervisory roles at Takeda and Shire Pharmaceuticals, with significant expertise in upstream/Fermentation unit operations. Prior to this, Ariel held management roles at Lonza, New England Confectionery Company, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Owens-Illinois, and Cerveceria Nacional Dominicana, focusing on production supervision, quality assurance, and operational efficiency. Ariel is also a part-time lecturer at Northeastern University. Educational qualifications include an International Diploma in Brewing Technology from the Siebel Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo, and a Master's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
