Janae Terez Aptaker

Janae Terez Aptaker is a highly experienced educational leader and advocate for marginalized students, currently serving on the Board of Directors for Improve Your Tomorrow since April 2023 and as Vice Chair for the Northern California College Promise Coalition since March 2022. Aptaker has a strong background in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, having worked as a DEI Program Manager at Blue Shield of California and previously as the Director of Program & Strategy for Stockton Scholars, where leadership included managing a $20M philanthropic program. Additional experience includes a role as Program Manager for the Hayward Unified School District and various positions at the University of California, Riverside and New York University, combined with academic credentials in Sociology of Education and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from reputable institutions.
