Sean Farrell

Sean Farrell has served as President of the American Conference for Irish Studies since April 2011 and holds the position of Associate Professor of History at Northern Illinois University, where responsibilities also include Director of Graduate Studies. Previous academic roles include Assistant Professor of History at The College of Saint Rose from 2001 to 2004 and at Newberry College from 1997 to 2001. Sean Farrell earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 1988 and 1996 and holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History from Pomona College, completed in 1988.
