José Angel Hernández

José Angel Hernández is an esteemed Associate Professor of History at the University of Houston since August 2013, specializing in teaching University Seminars on Historiography and the Philosophy of History. Hernández has been involved with the Fulbright Program in various capacities, including serving as a Fulbright Scholar in the Philippines and Mexico, and as a Fulbright Scholar Alumni Ambassador. Prior academic positions include Associate Professor of History at the University of Massachusetts and instructional roles at the University of Chicago and DePaul University, covering topics such as the History of Mexico, Latina/o History, and Latin American History. Hernández holds a PhD in History from the University of Chicago and has an extensive educational background, including a Master's from the University of Houston and a Bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
