Alaina E. Roberts, Ph.D., is an accomplished academic with a focus on history, currently serving as an Associate Professor of History at the University of Pittsburgh since September 2019, after holding the position of Assistant Professor of History at the same institution from August 2018 to July 2019. Roberts has rich postdoctoral experience, including roles as a Dietrich Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh and a George and Ann Richards Civil War Era Center Postdoctoral Fellow at Penn State University. Prior to that, Roberts completed a Ph.D. in American History at Indiana University, where extensive teaching involvement included serving as a Course Assistant. Additional experience includes leadership roles in cultural awareness initiatives, research at the Museum of the African Diaspora, and assistant positions in public affairs and student organizations during academic studies at UC Santa Barbara, where an educational foundation in History and American Indian & Indigenous Studies was established.
