Valerie Gray Hardcastle

Valerie Gray Hardcastle currently serves as the Vice President of Health Innovation at Northern Kentucky University, focusing on improving health outcomes and fostering economic growth in the region through transdisciplinary health innovation and advocacy for local citizens. Previously, Valerie was the Academic Director of the Weaver Institute for Law and Psychiatry at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where responsibilities included managing budgets and academic programming at the intersection of law, neuroscience, and psychiatry. As Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Cincinnati, Valerie enhanced the institution's standing and supported various educational and scholarly initiatives. Valerie's extensive academic career began at Virginia Tech, where roles included Associate Dean and Professor. Valerie holds a PhD in Cognitive Science and Philosophy from UC San Diego, a Master's degree in Philosophy from the University of Houston, and a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
