Majid Taj

Majid Taj has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on hospital operations and patient care. Majid has served as the CMO of Northern Maine Medical Center, overseeing inpatient and outpatient operations and collaborating with the CEO and COO to improve healthcare standards. Prior to this, they worked as a Hospitalist Physician at Weatherby Healthcare, diagnosing and treating hospitalized patients and developing recovery plans. Majid also has experience as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at ProMedica, where they ensured a high level of patient care and resolved personnel issues. Earlier in their career, they held the position of Director of Hospitalist Service at Cogent HMG, where they established and implemented procedures to enhance care. Majid Taj has also served as the President and Physician at Choice Urgent Care of Michigan, overseeing a staff of five and establishing contracts with local companies. Majid has experience in the public sector as well, having worked as the Director of Clinic at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, where they established a new clinic and managed operations and scheduling. As the Associate Chief Medical Officer at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, they provided administrative support, negotiated with bargaining units, and created new procedures to control prescription costs. Majid Taj began their career as the Chief Resident of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Michigan State University.

Majid Taj obtained an ISC degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Hyderabad Public School in 1980. Majid then pursued a medical degree at Gandhi Medical College from 1983 to 1990. In 1995, they furthered their education at Michigan State University, obtaining a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine. In 2019, Majid Taj attended Harvard University and earned a certificate in Improving global health with a focus on Quality and Safety. Continuing their academic journey, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2018 to 2021. In 2020, Majid Taj obtained additional certifications in Improving Global Health: Focusing on Quality and Safety from Harvard University.
