Thomas Adolphs

Thomas Adolphs is currently an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Northern Michigan University, a position held since 2023. In addition to this role, Thomas has been working as a Freelance Photographer and Graphic Designer since January 2008. Previously, Thomas served as a Teaching Professor of Graphic Design and Digital Media at Michigan Technological University from August 2021 to May 2023 and as an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Finlandia University from August 2016 to August 2021. Thomas's earlier experience includes multiple instructorships at Michigan Technological University between January 2010 and May 2016, covering Digital Media, Digital Photography, Graphic Design, and Composition. Academically, Thomas earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Rhetoric, Theory, and Culture from Michigan Technological University (2012-2018), a Master's degree in Rhetoric and Technical Communication from the same institution (2010-2011), and a Bachelor's Degree in Art and Design from Northern Michigan University (2008-2009).
