Meg Backus

Meg Backus is an experienced library professional currently serving as the Executive Director of the Northern New York Library Network since May 2018. Previously, Meg held positions such as Central Library Administrator and Director of Library Information Systems at the Onondaga County Public Library, and IT Manager at Anchorage Public Library. Early career roles include System Administrator at Chattanooga Public Library, Adult Programming Librarian & PR Coordinator at Northern Onondaga Public Library, and Research Assistant at Syracuse University Center for Digital Literacy. Meg also has experience as a Public Services Intern, Volunteer Instructor, Naturalist and Interim Supervisor, and Associate Editor. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Arts in English, Creative Writing, Religious Studies, and Biology from Hope College.
