Robert Berendt

Robert Berendt has extensive experience in technology oversight and management within the financial services sector, currently serving as Head of EMEA Technology Oversight and Deputy EMEA CTO at Northern Trust Corporation since April 2005. Responsibilities include regulator liaison, risk control oversight, and serving as CAO for the C&IS Technology Group. Previous roles at Northern Trust include leadership positions in cross technology services and IT applications, supporting transfer agency business units across multiple regions. Prior to Northern Trust, Robert was an IT Programme Manager at Baring Asset Management, overseeing the transfer agency and fund accounting sectors. Early career experience includes applications support analysis at OPRAF, contributing to the privatization of the UK rail industry. Robert holds an MSc in Information Technology from UCL and a BSc in Applied Biology from the University of Leeds.
